Ganyan talaga kung todo yung passion ng mga tao for violins. Hehe

Guarneri din ako. Sobrang satisfied ako sa Guarneri na binili ko kay OVH. MAy mga gs2 nga na bumili e. Kaso mga 1 year ko sya pinagmamasdan sa ebay. Kaya kailanman e di ko magagawang ibenta sya. Especially now na mas maganda na tunog nya. At ngun, naiimpress mga bisita ko dahit sa ganda nya. hehe.

Guarneri. A sweeter sound. Structurally made that way I suppose. He loved music for the feelings it could evoke. I guess it naturally translated into the way he made his masterpieces.

For the sound and appearance? I go for Guarneri. Mas dark and rounded yung sound nya pero sobrang brilliant yung sound sa high registers. From an interview of a famous violin player, he said that the Guarneri has a better sound but the Strad has a lot more power as if it is a racecar where you can get more power when you need it. There's this one Guarneri, however, that was closely compared for the same power/force that the Strad possesses; and that is the 'Canon,' owned by the famous Heifetz. I'm a pro Strad but I would want a Guarneri violin if you would ask me.

Clarification lang... Guarnerius ang ginamit ni Jascha Heifetz but it is not the IL CANON.. The "CANNON" was donated by Paganini to be the property of his hometown in GENOA Italy.. It is only allowed to be played by contest winners and the latest was Eugene Fodor..

Jascha Heifetz Used the Ex DAVID (1742 Guarneri del Gesu).. It was his favorite violin aside from his 2 Strads..

Dati puro Strad lang ang alam ko. And then I heard Sarah Chang's "Auf Flugeln des Gesanges". Na-in love ako sa dark na sound niya. I would later learn na Guarneri del Gesu ang gamit niya. I am a convert since.

National Treasure of Genoa, Italy yung Il Cannone Guarnerius ex Paganini... di ako sure kung si Paganini ang first to donate his Violin for posterity's sake, pero i'm sure he's one of the first to do that... ^_^ ♥
