Gusto ko rin ng Aubert, maganda kaya ung "ebony E-string inlay" nila? napansin ko na kinakain na ng E-string ko ung aking bridge... malapit na lumubog.

Off topic too pero: One can dab a small amount of Mighty Bond on the place where the e-string rests. It helps prevent the e-string from digging in into the bridge. Protect the top of the belly first with two layers of thick cloth to prevent any 'emergencies' (aka glue dripping down on the varnish! Naks). Wait for the glue to dry and then out back the e-string. :-)

@jantigercat: Hindi ba mamu-muffle ang tunog pag linagyan ng might bond ang bridge?

@andreoesguerra: A small amount of glue would not affect the tone I think.

May technique involved to put the glue on the deep groove made by the e-string. Toothpick could be used and patience and precision. Once can also "practice" on the bridge blank before venturing on your own violin.

"I'm not recommending superglue repair/reinforcement of string grooves as something you want to "try at home" (except for Buri :-) but since it's been written about here, someone without experience will probably try it. There are some major hazards. A precaution:

Don't try to apply superglue directly from the container! Superglue can do some strange spurty things, and there's not much that will ruin your day more than getting spatter (or worse) on your violin. I never dispense the glue anywhere near a violin.

Instead, put a little glue on a piece of aluminum foil; dip a pin or toothpick in the glue to get a slight coating (not a big drop) and touch this to the bridge groove. Protecting the top of the violin wouldn't be a bad idea either. Practice on something else first."

--Disclaimer: Ingat ingat lang sa pag dab ng super glue. When I first did this one it was a disaster. That was ten years ago... :-) I had to do this because I live in the province and couldn't have a luthier set up my violin so I had to make do.

Nagawa ko na kaso, parang kinain lang din ng E-string ung mighty bond ^^; hinde naman na muffle ung sound parang wala nga nangyari eh.

Ganyan din ang ginawa ko noon sa nabali ko na bridge[noong 1996] mighty bond! hinde ko lang masabi kung sumagwa ung tunog ng violin kasi masagwa na siya sa umpisa pa lang ^^;

Did you wait for the Mighty Bond to dry? Yung sa akin I apply it layer by layer...so it takes time. :-)

Ilang layer ba dapat? kasi ung isang patak, sinakop na nito ung hukay? sige babaklasin ko ulit at lalagyan ulit ng mighty bond.

Depende yun kung how deep the groove is. Sa aking case mga dalawang layers ok na.

I'll buy this aubert bridge once my new cc has arrived. haha... :)) I badly need a new bridge, sira na si despiau. Buti nga nakakatugtog pa ako ng maayos. I might send it to amador by March. para gumanda ulit tunog.

Di ako sure kung kakayanin ng cc ko.
