Shoulder Rests:
For a shoulder rest, I posted about the FOM shoulder rest that I got from Lyric for around P570.00. Very durable, very comfortable. Available at most of the Lyric branches.

That model is midpriced, compared to the Wood shoulder rests from FOM, which cost around P1,200.00 to P1,500.00 at Lyric. Pricey, but nice to look at. Haven't bought one pa, but I am planning to.

Don't get the plastic shoulder rests from JB. Cheap yes, but I doubt that these will last a long time. The plastic seems flimsy, di matibay talaga.

Others here were lucky enough to have been able to acquire Kun shoulder rests, but I don't think these are available in any of the stores in the Philippines. I have seen Sandner shoulder rests from Yamaha, I think one of our members has this, I think it costs around P700 thereabouts. But I have not tried those yet.

Strings:
Although Thomastik Infeld Dominants seem to be the choice of most of the pros, they are expensive, of course. But look through the past threads, and Cute Worm (jeje) is selling Innig brand of synthetic strings. You can PM him re the details on how to order a set (or two or three heehee) (oi Jeje am plugging your wares na ha)

Lyric has string brands like Alice, Bachendorff, and DADI. Cheap, from around P120, to P350 thereabouts.

Rosins:
There seems to be a general consensus here that the Eudoxa rosin is THE best for most applications. These are available at JB and Salonga Music stores, around P800-900, but will last you quite long.

That said, there is also a rosin with gold shavings/powder in it, brand is Laubach, I think, mentioned in the other past threads. Cost is pricier than the Eudoxa, and it is available at Sound Essentials music store. They have branches in SM North Edsa (The Block), Alabang Town Center, and MOA. Try reading back on the earlier threads...

JB has some of the cheaper rosins, Valencia, etc. Not so nice, very powdery (as in pwede mo pulbuhan violin mo hahaha). Lyric has Bachendorff, Paganini, and Super Sensitive brand of rosins... Paganini can be as cheap as P50.00, don't know about the quality though... Super Sensitive is around P350-550. Haven't tried those yet, but they do have some ads in Strings magazine, so might be worth checking...

Bows and Violin Fittings:
For Bows, Rommel Camba is your man. Carbon Fiber bows, Pernambuco, he has a lot to offer... Pricey of course, but I am sure you will get what you pay for, and more...

JB Music store does have bows for sale, but these are the low quality generic type...

For Violin Fittings, both Cute Worm and Rommel Camba offer these... PM mo na lang.

Bridges:
JB Music store has Aubert, Cremona, and I think Valencia bridges for sale. Most expensive is Aubert. Get the Aubert, IMHO.

Hm, I think I have covered most, if not all, of your questions Help: violin accessory brands and their prices 943811 Help: violin accessory brands and their prices 186686 Help: violin accessory brands and their prices 943811

Don't forget the majority of the sound comes from the player.. A single violin may sound different from other players..
